WU YIBING

Wu was ranked as high as no. 54 in the world in 2023 but injury kept him out of the tour for a year. In 2024, he reached the third round of the Shanghai Masters 1000, and won a Challenger title in Texas earlier this year, his sixth Challenger title overall. He became the men’s singles champion at the 15th National Games, beating Coleman Wong Chak-lam in the semifinals and Jerry Shang Juncheng in the final.

He won the 2023 Dallas Open, becoming the first Chinese man to reach and win an ATP Tour level singles final. He was also ranked no. 1 in the ITTF Junior world rankings in 2017 after winning the boy’s singles title at the US Open that year.

Wu is playing the Bank of China Hong Kong Tennis Open for the first time.
